Marielle Weintraub, Ph.D. is a founding board member and current President of the U.S. Hemp Authority. The U.S. Hemp Authority Certification Program is our industry's initiative to provide high standards, best practices and self-regulation, giving confidence to consumers, regulators, and law enforcement that hemp products can be trusted. Marielle was introduced to hemp and CBD in 2016 and quickly brought the hemp industry’s need for valid and reliable testing to Covance (2016) and continued to drive development of hemp-specific testing and standards until she left Eurofins in 2019. Marielle is very active in many dietary supplement and hemp industry trade associations, such as AOAC's Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP) where she participates on both Expert Review Panels and working groups, as a board member of the U.S. Hemp Roundtable and a member of the American Herbal Products Association- Cannabis Committee. Marielle earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience focusing her research on Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
