Southern Hemp Expo 2019

Cecily Friday is the Co Founder of The Southern Hemp Expo and the Executive Director and Founder of the Tennessee Cannabis Coalition. Since 2013 she has been a cannabis advisor for Nashville city council members and has lobbied and educated state and federal lawmakers and the public in Tennessee for safe access to medical cannabis. In 2017, she began work in the cannabis industry focusing on marketing and policy research for venture capital clients investing in hemp and cannabis, in addition to working on hemp business development in the state of Tennessee. In 2016, she was named as one of the Top 100 Political Influencers in Cannabis by Cannabis Business Executive Magazine. In 2019 she was named one of the Top 100 People to Know in Cannabis by Hemp Connoisseur Magazine. Her professional background includes extensive work as a project and operations manager in settings ranging from professional art, design and marketing, circuit design engineering and clinical psychiatric research. In addition, she has worked with other nonprofits, including Urban Green Lab, a Nashville based nonprofit committed to educating the community about sustainable living.
