Julie Lerner
Bio
Julie Lerner is CEO of PanXchange and leads all aspects of the firm's operations and strategy. Since founding the business in 2014, PanXchange has become the industry's leading provider of market structure solutions for OTC commodities. Julie began her career with Cargill International in Geneva, Switzerland and later became senior trader for the firm's Latin American sugar markets. In this role she focused on the development of origination markets with successful financing programs, and warehouse and distribution programs. Julie has deep expertise in other international agricultural and energy markets via her roles in trading and business development with companies including Phibro, XL Financial (weather derivatives) and Sempra Energy Trading (electricity). She specializes in bringing liquidity and efficiencies to thin and/or nascent markets. Julie is an advisor to several early stage companies and has a 360-degree perspective from entrepreneur to investor, and from smallholder farmers to Fortune 100 executives. She has been awarded two US patents, with three others pending relating to PanXchange's innovative pricing and trading platform. Julie is passionate about empowering underprivileged girls by providing them with a safe environment to learn and grow and speaks rusty Spanish and some French. An avid skier, Julie also aspires to hold her own on the golf course. She was selected as a Futures Industry Association Innovator in 2016 and was named one of the Most Admired CEOs by the Denver Business Journal in 2018.
