Asgar Shir is currently Director of Operations of Eurofins BioDiagnostics, Inc. (EBDI) at Longmont location. Asgar has more than 20 years experience in molecular breeding from which last 10 years has been with EBDI. Previously, Asgar worked for a vegetable seed company as a molecular breeder for 10 years. In that position, he worked very closely with company's breeders to develop molecular markers specific to a gene of interest (trait-linked markers or TLM) as well as general markers for molecular breeding such as marker-assisted backcrossing, QTL mapping, DNA fingerprinting for IP purposes and genetic relationships.
